Mold Training Courses
Mold Remediation for Workers/Supervisors $320.00 Based on EPA's voluntary March 2001 guidance document "Mold Remediation in Schools and Commercial Buildings" and OSHA's "A Brief Guide to Mold in the Workplace", this 16 hours course presents an overview of issues, prevention and removal. The course provides information designed to protect the health of the cleanup personnel and other workers during the mold removal process. A certificate of completion will be issued at end of class. Lecture includes: Background information, health effects (currently there are no federal standards -OSHA, NIOSH, EPA- or recommendations for airborne concentrations of spores), prevention and control, abatement methods, clean up methods and procedures, materials, PPE. At completion, students will have a full understanding of related guidelines for removal based on the size of the area impacted by the contamination. Hands-on exercises include: materials tools and equipment, set up and erecting critical barriers, PPE, respiratory protection, cleaning methods, clearance, waste and disposal. English and Spanish classes.
Mold Awareness $120.00 Based on EPA's guidelines, this 4 hours course presents an overview of microbial contamination related issues, prevention and remediation. This course is directed primarily at building managers, custodians, remediators, contractors and other professionals involved in mold related issues. This course does not cover all situations encountered and other cleaning and remediation methods may be used by other professionals in the field. Additionally, it does not describe all of the potential health effects related to exposure. Health professionals must be consulted for more detailed information. A certificate of completion will be issuedEnglish and Spanish classes.
