Abatement Supervisor Initial
Accredited 32-Hour certification course that meets the requirement of Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA, 15 U.S.C. 2682), and other requirements found at 40 C.F.R. part 745, Subpart L. The course includes HUD 2nd. Edition 2012 Guidelines and other applicable regulations. Course topics include: Roles and Responsibilities of Supervisors, Background Information and its Adverse Health Effects, Review of Federal, State and Local Regulations, Interior Dust Abatement and Cleanup.

Accredited re-certification course required every three (3) years to maintain certification. Topics include a review of the original class, review of federal and local regulations, and new developments and techniques. A copy of the initial certification or latest current refresher is required for this class.

Inspector Initial

Accredited 24-Hour certification course that meets the requirement of Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA, 15 U.S.C. 2682), and other requirements found at 40 C.F.R. part 745, Subpart L. The course materials include: Health Effects, Backgrond and Uses of Lead, Roles and Responsibilities of LBP inspectors, Review of Federal, State and Local Regulations, Liability and Insurance Issues, Clearances, Recordkeeping, etc.

Risk Assessor Initial

Accredited 16-Hour certification course that meets the requirement of Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA, 15 U.S.C. 2682), and other requirements found at 40 C.F.R. part 745, Subpart L. Course topics include: Roles and Responsibilities, Review of Federal, State and Local Regulations, Liability and Insurance Issues, Risk Assessment and Inspections.

The course covers basic requirements and new techniques and developments. Includes: roles and responsibilities, health Issues, background information, hazard recognition and control, abatement methods, and regulations. Course is offered in both English or Spanish.

    Renovation, Repair and Paint (RRP) Initial
    T
    o protect against the risk of hazardous dust and chips generated by common renovation activities like sanding, cutting and demolition, beginning on April 2010, The Environmental Protection Agency required that all companies performing renovation, repair and painting (RRP) and disturb LBP in pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools be certified. The rule affects paid renovators, including but not limited to:
     
    • Painters
    • Demolition
    • Specialty Trades
    • Property Owners Working on Rental Property
    • Maintenance Workers in Multi-Family Homes
     
    Companies involved in this type of activities, must use certified renovators who are trained by approved training providers to follow safe work practices. Course is offered in both English or Spanish.

    Course required every 5 years to maintain accreditation as a certified RRP Renovator. Topics include review of initial course, changes on regulations and new techniques and developments. Initial certificate, latest current copy or abatement certification (if applicable) is required for this class. Copies of previous certificate must be provided prior to commencement. Course is offered in both English or Spanish.

    CDPH California Worker Initial
    CDPH approved course for worker certification. This 3-day course includes:
        - Background information
        - Health effects of exposure
        - Regulations and laws
        - Identifying and evaluating lead paint hazards
        - Controlling hazards
        - Containment set-up and proper removal methods
        - Clean-up, disposal and clearance and hands-on
     
    CDPH course completion form required to apply for the California CDPH Worker Certification, will be provided to students that attend all 3 days and pass the written examination. Course is offered in both English or Spanish.
